What started with a sample Corten fire pit surround about 15 years ago for our home in Cape Town, combined with a love of gardening, nature, and a blazing fire, has led me down many a rabbit hole in the search for more ideas and inspiration for my garden using Corten.

Next was a water feature to block noisy neighbours, followed by a fire pit (or two 😉) that we could move around or take away, warm up or create ambience (told you I love a fire!) or give the kids their own s’more station. And more recently, we installed fencing panels for our home, as our wooden panels were requiring too much maintenance.

Corten is incredibly versatile and maintains its appearance without requiring any maintenance over its decades-long lifespan. It is the perfect outdoor material! We have used it extensively.

Skip forward, and now, after helping my husband with his company for almost 20 years, it’s time for me to branch out and do my own thing!
